Makes 24 Pieces Servings

These yummy treats get rave reviews! The citrus oil and balsamic glaze add both a decorative and tasty finishing touch. Manchego is a Spanish cheese with great flavor.

Ingredients

24 fresh Medjool dates, pitted
3 ounces manchego cheese
1 package uncured bacon
1 teaspoon tangerine oil (chili oil is nice substitute)
1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
Fresh cracked black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Stuff the pitted Medjool dates with small cuts of manchego cheese. Wrap each stuffed date with 1/2 slice uncured bacon. Complete a full roll of the date with the bacon, rotate the date 90 degrees and continue a forward roll until the date is completely enclosed by the bacon.
  2. Place under broiler and cook for 5-6 minutes on one side, turn each date over and continue cooking an additional 4-5 minutes. When done, drizzle each date with tangerine oil and place on serving plate. Finish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and fresh cracked black pepper.
