CPSC Data

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is the federal agency charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction, including glass bakeware. As further evidence of the exemplary safety record of PYREX®, there has never been a recall of a PYREX glass bakeware product.

The CPSC maintains the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) database, a respected source of information about product injuries that assists it in identifying hazardous products (or product categories). These data have never indicated any safety issue with glass bakeware, including that made by PYREX. In fact, the most recent NEISS data for the category that includes glass bakeware suggest that consumers are far more likely to be injured by dropping the bakeware than as a result of using the product in connection with food preparation.
